‘My Wardrobe your Bodywarmer‘
What do you want to wear on your body? How important is it to you that clothes are made of fibres that are not harmful to your health and the health of others? That those who make your clothes are paid a living wage?
Join in and create a Bodywarmer as a Social & Sustainable Fashion Statement
- For the one who makes your clothes
- For the planet
- By reusing material or even one that is fully circular
- For inclusivity
- For yourself and each other
Do you already have a surprising creation in mind?
For example, use a garment in your design that you no longer wear. From October 2025, we will showcase all the results in a show and an exhibition.
Feel free to fill in this challenge however you like, it is not so important whether it is a wearable piece, you decide the medium. That can also be a photograph or a (digital) work of art. You can use textiles or other material that is already there, or make your own material, anything goes, you choose.
The idea is to celebrate sustainability and creativity with the people of Enschede by making 700 bodywarmers together before 15 December 2025 because that is when Enschede celebrates its 700th anniversary! Enschede once the largest textile city in Europe, at the time experienced first-hand what working conditions were like in the textile industry.
